We decided early on that we wanted to be a respected tree business in Brisbane known for the quality of our work.
Michael had seen the best and worst of the industry having worked for several other tree businesses in Brisbane.
We hunted jobs and managed to win a few. Both having to work other jobs, we would book in work for Saturday mornings.
After around 6 months of doing this we decided that the next logical move was to purchase a truck and chipper but there was no way we could afford both. I said “well we can’t drive a chipper around” and so we bought our truck.
We were able to take on bigger jobs and found we were picking up more work.
Michael moving away from paid employment and focusing on building our business. Sometimes we would only have 1 day of work and Michael did some contract climbing for other tree companies to keep us going.
We tried the local paper but it was expensive and we weren’t getting any calls. We then joined onto some lead generation sites and things really took off.
I was still working part time and doing my best to answer enquiries and set up quotes and bookings between working.
We put on a young local lad who was interested in learing about Aboricultue and how to climb trees. He eventually became our apprentice.
The lead generating sites, though highly competitive, and now some repeat customers were beginning to fill the weeks up with work.
Michael and our apprentice tackled a lot of work together over the next 12 months. From time to time we would call in a friend, brother or neighbour (even me) if the job was really big.
It is really hard work to do this. We needed a wood chipper. We searched Australia for the right machine and found our 9 inch Bandit which has served us well and we still use to this day.
We have built a great reputation now and are constantly refining our processes to ensure quality work and a safe environment for our clients and staff. We hope to continue servicing our amazing existing clients and find new ones throughout the coming years.
and still every time the phone rings with someone wanting a quote or a making a booking it’s still a thrill.
We work really hard and everything we do is for the satisfaction of our clients, the reputation of our business and the for benefit of our family.
Our stump grinding machine has a rotating blade which shreds through the stump of tree or palm. You can request a particular depth which we are happy to do where possible.
This is where we prune the lower branches of the tree to increase the height of the canopy.
A great option if you have low branches that are interfering with people or property.
